Description

Unlike conventional amber warning lights, the Spot Devices Emergency Vehicle Hybrid Beacon (EVHB) flashes bright, red attention-getting beacons, providing motorists with an unmistakable message of their need to stop. Installed where emergency vehicles are exiting the station or crossing a street or highway, the EVHB remains dark until activated by authorized personnel. When activated, the system flashes a sequence of amber warning beacons followed by red "stop" beacons, creating a break in traffic for emergency vehicles. A station-mounted button activates the system for egress, while a handheld controller located in the emergency vehicle activates the system upon re-entry to the station. The handheld controller can also separately activate additional warning beacons that can be installed along a busy street or at a highway entry or crossing.

Operation

Spot Devices System Infrastructure Management Application (SIMA) is a browser-based tool for remote, enterprise-wide supervision of all Spot Devices systems. In contrast with traditional signal controllers, the intuitive SIMA user interface doesn't require a signal technician to configure and operate. Spot Devices EVHB is also purpose-built; all components are manufactured, configured and tested as one integrated system.
