SIMA is a money-saving suite of Web-based applications, which provides a wide range of control, monitoring, configuration and management capabilities for Spot Devices systems. Depending on the application and system configuration, Spot Devices offers different levels of SIMA connectivity and response, including real-time service, scheduled service, and per-use service.
Real-time service is designed for applications requiring immediate SIMA processing of unscheduled events. An example of such functionality is the SP3010 Traffic Signal Priority System, which is used to provide transit arrival notification and traffic signal priority for vehicles.
Scheduled service is used when system functionality requires SIMA supervision on a regular basis. An example of this functionality is calendar-based activation, such as that used in school zone beacon systems.
Per-use service is performed by Spot Devices personnel, and is usually delivered on the next business day. An example of per-use service is the retrieval of time-stamped activation records from Spot Devices archives.
